Suzy Yowell founded The Growing Field in 2017.  Drawing from an extensive background in both the business and non-profit sectors,  Suzy is uniquely adept at building relationships, connecting resources and identifying the most effective solutions.  In addition to being a church resource consultant and founder of The Growing Field, she is a licensed property and casualty insurance agent, and the former state director of a national faith related non profit organization.

Suzy has worked with hundreds of congregations over the years, providing a wide range of services and programs; space assessments, outreach strategies, partnership facilitation, economic impact studies, community discovery, fundraising, building stewardship, preservation funding and more.

  • Facilitated space partnership between the Community Eye Clinic and First Christian Church in Fort Worth. The clinic is the largest teaching eye clinic of it's kind in this country.

  • Partner Expert with Leadership Fort Worth, contributing to the development of a process model for facilitating partnerships between sacred places and Tarrant County social service agencies.

  • Led Texas research team in the highly acclaimed Halo Effect Study. The national study measured the economic value and impact that historic sacred places have on local economies. 

  • Directed the economic valuation studies for Salvation Army's Kroc Community Centers in Arizona, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas.

  • Lead consultant in community discovery study,  engagement, partnership and funding sessions for the Martin County Convent Board, contributing to the restoration of the historic Carmelite Monastery in Stanton, Texas.
