The Growing Field is dedicated to helping churches find new connections and resources to re-imagine their future, engage with their community and remain sustainable for the next generation.

Why? Can you imagine our communities without houses of worship? In addition to being our spiritual homes, churches are the most universally recognized beacons of hope in our neighborhoods. They are often the first place people will reach out to for counseling, food, clothing, and other critical services. They serve as gathering places in times of celebration and comforting harbors in times of tragedy. We need them.  It's that simple.
 Helping Texas Churches
The Growing Field is dedicated to helping churches find new connections and resources to re-imagine their future, engage with their community and remain sustainable for the next generation.
As our communities continue to change, more demands are placed on people, space and budgets than ever before. Many congregations find themselves profoundly affected by these changes. They may become smaller in size and financial resources, struggle to maintain aging facilities or find it difficult to strike a healthy balance between capacity and community outreach efforts. Others will find themselves disconnected from their community altogether.

The Growing Field understands these challenges well. We provide real solutions and practical tools that contribute to the vibrant future and long-term sustainability of your sacred place.
The Growing Field is here to help. We understand these challenges well and know how difficult they can be for a congregation. We are dedicated to sharing information and resources that help congregations find the support they need. From preservation, building stewardship and capital funding resources, to community engagement, space sharing partnership and workshop ideas, we are here to help!
First Christian Church in Fort Worth, is the city's first congregation, founded in 1855. It is also home to the Community Eye Clinic, the largest teaching eye clinic of it's kind. The clinic occupies the entire second floor of the church, converting old Sunday School rooms into exam rooms, a reception area, and an optical center. This creative space sharing partnership has made much-needed eye care available to more than 25,000 patients since it opened in 2013. The partnership has also given new hope and "vision" to the congregation!

Volunteer Texas Churches
One of the easiest ways to get the most from your volunteers is to communicate with each one on a regular basis.  Be sure to explain what you need them to do regarding specific tasks and more importantly, what you expect from their role as it relates to the church.

With that said, you can’t do all the talking. Communication is at its most effective when it takes place on a two-way street where you maintain an open ear and listen to feedback. The two-way aspect is vital because it benefits both parties. Your volunteers know they can come to you at any time to make suggestions or voice their concerns. The result of this is individuals who are willing to give their all.
